Pre-cut Dialysis Membrane
Dialysis tubing can be pre-cut into discs, sheets, strips or squares ready for assembly into assay kits, ready-to-use devices or dialysis systems.
Pre-rolled Dialysis Membrane
Dialysis membrane can be provided as a specified rolled length of 1-ply ribbon. For convenience, dialysis tubing closures can be applied and included within the individual packaging.
Pre-wetted, Pre-treated, or Pre-sterilized Dialysis Membranes
Dry tubing lengths and 1-ply membrane can be pre-wetted or pre-treated to remove heavy metals and sulfides prior to being wet-packaged, ready-to-use for the application. They can also be pre-irradiated by E-beam to minimize the risk of microbial contamination in a dialysis application. Wet membrane products are packaged in DI water without azide preservative prior to irradiation.
Using proper resealable closures is the only way to ensure proper membrane seal. To prevent leaking or breakage on all membrane types, Repligen offers two classes of dialysis tubing closures.
Spectra/Por® Standard Closures aid in buoyancy and vertical orientation of dialysis tubing. They are autoclavable and available in a variety of colors for easy sample identification.
Autoclavable, Spectra/Por® Weighted Closures contain an acid-washed, fluorocarbon coated, stainless steel bar. When applied to the bottom of the dialysis tubing, the closure maintains a vertical orientation of the sample.
Autoclavable Spectra/Por® Magnetic-weighted Closures contain a magnetic fluorocarbon coated stainless steel bar, eliminating the need for conventional stir bars. Applied to the bottom end of the dialysis tubing, this closure provides complete submersion and gentle rotation of the sample on a stir plate.
The ultimate sample buoyancy and vertical orientation can be achieved by applying both a standard and a weighted Spectra/Por® Closure to opposite ends of the same dialysis tubing. The Paired Closures are autoclavable.
Specially designed with gentle sealing ridges, Universal Closures are the ideal all-purpose closure that creates a reliable seal with all membrane grades, types and thicknesses. Available in a variety of colors for easy sample identification. For best results, select a pair of closures that has a sealing width 4 to 10 mm longer than the flat width of the dialysis tubing. This assures a proper seal without membrane tearing.
