TangenX™ PRO Reusable Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) Cassettes may be cleaned and re-used multiple times while maintaining reproducible cassette performance. They are engineered with optimized channel geometry and enhanced device rigidity to ensure that hydraulic performance is maintained during processing and scale-up.
Validated for GMP use, TangenX™ PRO Reusable TFF Cassettes come in two industry standard format footprints with accompanying holders. They are available using ProStream or HyStream membranes, with choice of pore size and flow-channel configuration.
with TangenX™ SIUS™ Single-use TFF Cassettes - same channel geometry, same membrane chemistry
From process development to commercial scale
Up to 30% less cost than other reusable TFF flat sheet filter cassettes
Rigorous QC lot release testing for air integrity and hydrodynamic performance
with holders from major suppliers (Millipore, Pall, Sartorius)
Validation Guide and Certificate of Compliance provided to meet regulatory guidelines
During process development, scientists aim to select the most promising membrane candidates, while making related decisions regarding feed pressure, TMP and screen geometry. TangenX™ PRO PD Reusable TFF Cassettes enable process development scientists to select the most promising membrane candidates.
To ensure fit with cassette holders from other manufacturers, TangenX™ PRO PD Reusable TFF cassettes are offered with two different notch patterns at the end of the cassette.

When the primary membrane candidate has already been chosen as a process parameter, the production method needs to be verified and production materials produced for toxicology or pre-clinical trials, and ultimately for large-scale commercial production. TangenX™ PRO Reusable TFF Cassettes provide reliable cassette-to-cassette consistency, ensuring that processes can scale to commercial production levels.
Process volume and membrane area determine scale-up from TangenX™ SIUS™ Single-use Cassettes to TangenX™ PRO Reusable TFF Cassettes.

Tangential flow filtration cassettes create turbulence at the membrane's surface and minimize fouling . The result is an increase in performance with a higher permeate flux. The TangenX™ PRO reusable cassettes are offered in three different channel configurations to best suit the application. The channel configuration refers to the type of turbulence promoter incorporated into the feed channel of a cassette.
H Screen - A fine channel or "H" screen is offered in all TangenX™ PRO cassettes and creates the most turbulence at the membrane's surface ensuing exceptional permeate flux with minimal fouling. This type of turbulence promoter requires the lowest pumping rate and yields the highest cross flow velocity of all three types offered. It also has the highest pressure drop (Delta P) and is easily plugged with small particulates. This type of channel is best suited for dilute feed streams free of particulates with a lower viscosity.
L Screen - A medium channel or L screen is offered in all TangenX™ PRO cassettes and creates a more moderate amount of turbulence at the membrane's surface with minimal fouling. This type of turbulence promoter requires a higher pumping rate than the H screen in order to match the cross flow velocity. When operating at the recommended cross flow rate, it will have a 50% lower pressure drop (Delta P) than the H screen. This type of channel is best suited for clarified feed streams with a moderate to high viscosity.
Suspended Screen - A suspended screen or S channel is offered in all TangenX™ PRO cassettes and consists of a screen suspended over the surface of the membrane using flow spacers. This type of channel creates the least amount of turbulence at the membrane's surface while still minimizing fouling. It also requires the highest pumping rate and can not match the cross flow velocity of the screen channel cassettes. It does however have the ability to pass particulates, such a cells or cell debris through the channel without plugging. This type of channel is best suited for unclarified feed streams or ones with a very high viscosity.
TangenX™ Cassettes are manufactured in a fully validated and documented manufacturing process according to the principles of cGMP. Each cassette comes with a Quality Assurance Certificate.
