Tulip Tank Study: The impact of mixing homogeneity on TFF membrane performance

Often overlooked, the degree of  homogeneity in the feed significantly impacts membrane performance during ultrafiltration diafiltration (UF/DF). Even small changes in the nature of the feed can lead to drastic deviations and product quality concerns.

This study explores the impact of vessel design and mixing dynamics on tangential flow filtration (TFF) membrane performance. The innovative single-use Repligen Tulip Tank paired with the KrosFlo® RS 30 TFF system significantly improved performance as compared to commercially available retentate vessels, reducing the gap between theoretical models and actual outcome.
